The Chinese New Year is this weekend. How to guarantee some luck...

This Sunday, February 10th will mark the start of the Chinese New Year...

... also known as the Spring Festival and Lunar New Year. In order to ring in some luck in the Year of the Snake, you’ll need to be prepared:

• Share some citrus. Oranges and tangerines are appropriate gifts and represent good health and long life.

• Clean your house. It is believed that this ritual helps to sweep away any bad luck from the previous year and encourages a fresh, clean start for the new.

• Bake a cake – or some cookies. Anything sweet will do. Sharing sweets helps to ensure the New Year will be full of good things and happy faces.

• Go fishing. Fish is the traditional meal served on the New Year. It is believed to invite riches into your life. Don’t finish the fish. Save some leftovers overnight, they represent surplus and profit
