What’s your favorite Monopoly piece?

Hopefully, it’s not the iron. That’s the game token which has been voted OFF the board. Hasbro decided the game could use something new to saunter down Boardwalk, through Marvin Gardens and past Go. That new icon will be a cat, which won out over the proposed diamond ring, helicopter and guitar.

It was a tough decision and the game maker left it up to a vote on Facebook. Opinions were fierce and the iron didn’t stand a chance up against some of the other favorites. The Scottie dog was the overwhelming favorite, followed by the race car. The wheelbarrow and the shoe should be counting their lucky stars because they weren’t much more popular than the iron. The remaining pieces, including the thimble, top hat and battleship fared pretty well with plenty of fan support. You can expect iron fans and collectors to be hoarding the games currently on the shelves before the new Monopoly cat steps into the box later this year.
