Getting Grounded

Hurry – before it gets too cold – walk barefoot on the grass!

There’s something about waking barefoot on the grass or a sandy beach that feels so good – and now scientists have figured out why. It’s a new concept called earthing or grounding. According to Stephen Sinatra, author of a new book called “Earthing,” direct contact with the earth puts us in touch with the natural electrical energy of its surface. He explains how modern life has disconnected us from the earth. Shoes, buildings and mattresses are all great – but they deprive us of that natural charge which leaves us deficient in electrons.

To recharge with some earth energy, all we need to do is have about 30 minutes of direct skin to earth contact. Any part of the body will do – but the soles of our feet are the most receptive.
