Is your freezer full? If it’s not – you better go fill it!
Your freezer will be much more efficient if it’s full. If you’re the type who’s just got some ice cream or crystalized mystery items in there, fill it up! It will run much more efficiently. You can even use containers of water to take up some space if you’re not a big frozen food fan. But don’t overdo it. You want to leave enough room in there for the air to circulate a bit.
If you like to freeze leftovers – make sure to let them cool off before putting them into the freezer. The same rule should apply for your fridge – they’ll both have to work a lot harder if the stuff you put in there is hot or warm.
