Eat for Heat

Those first few really cold days of the season can take some getting used to – and there are some foods that really help our bodies adjust.

Sesame, ginger, cinnamon and garlic all have natural warming properties. Clove, cumin and pepper do too. If you’d like a sweeter kind of warm – drizzle some honey on it.

Some foods have the opposite effect. Processed foods, white bread and dairy can actually slow our natural heating mechanism down.
