Oysters and chocolate aren’t the only aphrodisiac foods on the menu. More romantic options...

If you’ve heard oysters are an aphrodisiac, it’s true.

Thanks to their amino acids which trigger the production of sex hormones, oysters can be a great first course for that romantic meal. Here are some other options for the menu:

* Chili Peppers: They can speed up the heart rate and turn the heat on.

* Avocado: They can boost your levels of youthful vigor and energy, thanks to their vitamin E.

* Bananas: There’s just something sexy about them and the bromelain can trigger testosterone production.

* Olive oil: The Greeks believed olives made men more virile and there could be something to that. Olive oil promotes blood flow and hormone production.

* Figs: They represent fertility and sexuality and they’re bursting with drive enhancing potassium.

* Artichokes: Peeling back those leaves together and sharing the heart can be downright romantic. They also improve blood flow.

And for dessert, something chocolate with whipped cream and a cherry on top. Chocolate enhances feelings of pleasure. Whipped cream boosts libido and that cherry has vitamins and minerals that help set the mood.
