Binge TV watching is on the rise. Why it’s not all bad...

If you’ve already got plans to spend Valentine’s Day with Kevin Spacey, you’re probably a Binge TV watcher.

As hardcore House of Cards fans count down the days to their next fix, some Breaking Bad and House of Cards fans are still catching up. Binge TV watching is all the rage, and although it sounds bad, there could be some benefits to it. According to a recent Netflix study, TV viewers are no longer zoning out as a way to forget about their day. They are tuning in, on their own schedule, to a different world and some really good storytelling. Catching up on the latest must-see series also encourages conversation and keeps us in the social loop.

Nearly 80% of TV bingers surveyed said watching several episodes of their favorite shows at once actually makes the shows more enjoyable. Over half of them say they watch with at least one other person and set aside some quality time to do that.
