Road Trip Protocol

Before you hit the road for that vacation – make sure to check your car for a few things...

I’ve got the list, coming up…Payoff:You’ve packed the suitcases and the kids – now let’s be sure the car is up for the trip. Here are some things to check:

• Make sure your vehicle’s owner’s manual is in the car. Hopefully you won’t need it.

• Top off all the fluids, including oil, transmission and power steering and brake fluids.

• Do a visual inspection. Look at all the lights, the wipers and the wheels.

• Check your tire pressure – first thing in the morning while they’re cool.

You’ll probably want that AC. Start the car and run it on high. If it’s not cool enough – take the car to the dealer and have them check the cooling agents. Some dealers will do a multi-point inspection of your vehicle for free before your trip.
