Mosquito Water

If you’ve got a bird bath – you’ve probably got mosquitos too...

There is one thing mosquitos like just as much as blood – water! Bird baths, fountains and even dog bowls are prime real estate for mosquitos - they love to lay their eggs in there. There are a few things you can do to prevent that. Change the water in bird baths or fountains twice a week - every day for the dog bowl. That should be often enough to disrupt the life cycle of any mosquito eggs, larvae or pupae in there.
There are also products available containing a bacterial insecticide, called BTI. It comes in tablet form and you drop one in there once a month. You can usually find that at garden shops or pet stores.
