If you like to hang out in coffee shops – mind your café manners…
Coffee shops have always been popular hangouts – but now with Wifi and more amenities, some people just won’t leave. Brenna Ehrlich and Andrea Bartz, authors of “Stuff Hipsters Hate,” have some café etiquette rules to follow:
• Unplug. Next to coffee, outlets are often the next most sought after item in the café. Once your charged, unplug and give someone else a turn.
• Share a table. Resist the urge to spread out your laptop, lunch and work all over a large table if you’re alone. Customers who are there to drink coffee with friends won’t appreciate it.
• Shhhh. Heated conversations on your phone, singing along to your iPod, or watching videos without headphones is really pretty rude.
• Order something. Nursing one cup of coffee for hours while you network won’t be appreciated by the owners, or for new customers who deserve a seat.
