If you’re dressing for a job interview – make sure to wear the hire-me color.
No one color suits all jobs, you’ll have to choose the right hue for the position you’re going for. The color you’re wearing can suggest you’ve got the skill-set they’re looking to hire. Here are the recommendations by job description from a CareerBuilders survey:
• Management or leadership: Black or red. Black conveys sophistication and is taken seriously while red suggests passion and power.
• Team player: Blue. It’s the safest bet because blue exudes trust and confidence.
• Logical/analytical: Gray. It’s a lonely color that suggests you’re independent and self-sufficient.
• Well-organized: White. White or beige can make a subtle statement, especially in an environment where everyone else is in dark colors.
• Dependable: Brown. Think UPS. Brown suggests you’re safe, warm and reliable.
• Creative: Yellow, orange or purple. These colors suggest your fun and like attention. Wear them wisely.
