If you know any teens who like energy drinks, keep an eye on them.
Researchers have found a link between increased use of energy drinks and behavioral health issues. Of teenagers who reported drinking energy drinks more than once a month, a startling number of them were found to also be suffering from depression and/or substance abuse. They were also more likely to engage in risky and sensation-seeking behavior. The study looked at middle and high-school aged kids and found that the younger male teens were most at risk.
