Fashionable, sexy or practical – some shoe styles are terrible for your feet.
Here are some features to avoid if you’d rather not suffer from chronic foot pain:
• Small or pointy toes: They may look sexy, but the bunion you may wind up with on your big toe will not.
• High heels: They can alter your Achilles tendon and leave you with nerve damage on the ball of your foot.
• Thin soles: Those ballet flats may seem sensible – but lack of cushioning and support can result in plantar fasciitis.
• Women who like to wear high heels or pointy toes can reduce the risk of foot pain and damage by getting in the habit of wearing sensible shoes to and fro, making the switch at the door.
