If you’ve got a mobile device, beware of Bluetooth attacks.
It’s a good idea to get in the habit of disabling your Bluetooth function when you’re not using it, especially in public. If another device can discover your Bluetooth, a hacker can abuse that or send unsolicited messages to your device. Bluesnarfing is a phrase used for hackers discovering your Bluetooth and stealing information off of your device, compromising your security.
When you are using your Bluetooth, check the settings on your device and make sure they are on “hidden” as opposed to “discoverable.” Just remember that your Bluetooth is most at risk when in the vicinity of public wireless hotspots, even if you’re not using your device.
