If you use Netflix – pay no attention to that “Important Notice.”
It’s a phishing scam and it’s freaking out a lot of Netflix customers. Netflix has nothing to do with that warning screen or email that may pop up detecting unusual activity on your account. That’s a fake. It will prompt you to call an 800 number to reactivate your account. Don’t do it. They’ll just ask for your credit card number and bill you for their bogus technical support.
If you get the Important Notice screen on Netflix, or a similar email, just close and ignore it. Do not click on any links or call any phone numbers.
