It’s true, playing Candy Crush actually has some mental benefits – IF you keep it in check.
A recent study found that taking video game breaks improves mood and helps to sharpen focus. That’s because we block everything else out while we’re playing and concentrate on strategy and success.
Candy Crush is a good example because its rewards are stimulating. Those bright colors and confectionary explosions give us an extra dose of feel-good dopamine. Players are also forced to take a break after completing various levels.
There's no denying these games can be addictive. Players who pay to advance to the next level are flirting with addiction which cancels out the Candy Crush benefits.
