Is it better to share a bed or sleep alone?

You’re better off if you have to share your bed.

Researchers say those who share a bed tend to be healthier than those who don’t. According to Wendy Troxel, assistant professor of psychiatry and psychology at the University of Pittsburgh, shared sleep in healthy relationships may lower levels of cortisol, a stress hormone.

Sleep experts say the bed buddies also enjoy a greater sense of safety and security and lower levels of anxiety that will trump shared sleep complaints such as snoring, kicking or hogging the covers that solo sleepers don’t have to deal with.
