If you’d like to pay less for your funeral, you’d better hurry up.

The cost of living increases every year - and so does the cost of dying.

Average funeral prices have been steadily increasing and are up a whopping 80% since 2004. Estimates for the average funeral this year are between $8,000 and $10,000.

Expect to pay the funeral director about six thousand and another two to four thousand for the cemetery plot and headstone. The plot usually costs around $1,000 but you’ll need another $1,000 to dig the hole. Grave markers and headstones start around $1,000 but can get shockingly expensive with size, shape, detail and design.
