If you’d like to work for Google, you’d better enhance your Googliness.

Do you have what it takes to work for Google?

Check your resume for Googliness. It’s one of the factors considered in hiring, according to Sunil Chandra, Google’s vice president for staffing and operations. If you’re wondering what Googliness is, Chandra describes it as someone who is innately curious, just want to know more about stuff, likes working and teams and likes getting people together.

So who will you have to prove your Googliness to? Not your would-be boss. Google intentionally uses panels of varied employees to select candidates, instead of potential direct supervisors or peers. That helps remove any chance of subjectivity.
