The next time you need to text someone – hold your phone up first...

Texting can be a real pain in the neck, literally...

More chiropractors are treating what they call “text neck,” especially in young patients. 91% of us text with our chins bent straight down. People who have entire text conversations, staying in that position for more than a minute, can easily wind up stressing the neck – and may even experience pain when moving it back into its natural position.

“Text neck” may soon need to be renamed “text and tablet neck.” A lot of people assume that same chin to chest position while using their iPad, Kindle or other tablet. It’s best if you can move your device up a bit and take frequent breaks for your neck, eyes and brain.
