Give yourself a round of applause!

If you’re happy and you know it, clap your hands!

If you’re not happy – keep clapping. Researchers have determined that clapping can instantly make us feel better. Adults who participated in the clapping experiment reported feeling happier, more alert and less tense. Clapping can tap into some good childhood memories and we naturally associate it with something positive.

In another study, young children who regularly played hand-clapping games, like Pat-a-Cake and Miss Mary Mack, were better spellers, with neater handwriting and better overall writing skills.
