Post-vacation depression is real and you may be at risk.
After weeks or months of planning that week or two of fun – it’s over – and that’s when PVD can set in. Symptoms include:
• Boredom
• Anxiety
• Guilt, usually from money spent
• Dissatisfaction with work, home life or relationship
While post-vacation blues may seem par for the course, some people really struggle with it. Instead of letting a vacation hangover get the best of you, it’s best to face it head on, sooner rather than later. First, you’ll need to get the laundry and grocery shopping out of the way. Organize your vacation photos and start detoxing from vacation food and drink. Balance your budget and catch up on bills. If there’s anything left over, plan something inexpensive and fun to do in the next few weeks so you’ll have something to look forward to closer to home.
