Blue jeans have been the go to leisure-wear for generations now.
However, the denims are dropping, according to recent consumer data. U.S. jean sales are falling about 6 percent per year – and that’s huge. It seems that leggings, yoga pants and athletic wear are causing denim to fade away as people opt for one-size-fits-all, less expensive alternatives.
Levi Strauss is not too concerned, yet. They say after 161 years, they’ve seen the trends come and go. They’re also seeing a slight uptick in the demand for denim jackets and overalls.
