If you plan to “reach out” or “buy in” at work today – don’t say it out loud. The most annoying business jargon...

If you’re tempted to drink the Kool-Aid or open the kimono at work – just don’t.

Forbes Magazine has the list of most annoying business jargon:

• Core Competency: As opposed to surface competency?

• Buy-In: Expecting support from people who had no say in the matter.

• Empower: Think about it. It’s condescending.

• Drinking the Kool-Aid: Referencing the Jonestown Massacre isn’t cute.

• Open the Kimono: Used instead of “revealing information,” it’s creepy.

• Best Practice: It sounds pompous. And why would you be practicing anything but?

• Think Outside the Box: It’s old and not outside the box at all. Just think.

• It Is What It Is. Thanks. Idiot.

• Take Offline: It’s absurd, unless of course you’re online.

• Reach Out: Unless it’s to grab or punch someone – just contact them.

• 110%. It’s just wrong.
