If you’re shopping for some new summer clothes, bathing suits or cover ups, look for UPF on the label...UPF stands for ultraviolet protection factor and can be a very effective layer of defense, especially for children and adults who spend a lot of time in the sun. Most people don’t think to apply protective lotion or spray where the sun don’t shine and those ultraviolet rays can make their way right through most of the light and breezy fabric we tend to wear in the summer. While it’s no substitute for sunscreen, UPF clothing fiber is more dense with a higher thread count per inch, but is also often vented and designed to breath and keep you cool.
