While our first reaction is to start frantically looking, that can be counter productive, according to Michael Solomon, author of “How to Find Lost Objects.” Instead, Michael says we need to stop, take a deep breath and relax. In a recent study, those who took a ten minute time out before looking for a lost object found it much faster than the frantic searchers who had short circuited their skills.
Before you do start your search, chant for your item, “keys, keys, keys.” Verbalizing the name of the lost item helps you visualize it and see it faster.
