Black beans are good - but another bean is better...


Move over black beans - red beans are better...
The USDA tested the antioxidant content of several foods and red beans topped the list. They’re even better than blueberries in that respect. Red beans are also a great source of fiber, iron and B vitamins. 
You’ve got several choices in the red bean department. There’s the small Mexican red bean or chili bean and good old kidney beans. Fresh or dry beans are best but you can still get some of the red bean benefits from a can. Just be sure to rinse your beans before eating them to reduce the sodium and other additives.
