Those last minute items in the checkout line aren’t selling like they used to...


Do you check your phone in the checkout line?

A lot of people do and the magazine industry is NOT happy about that. Industry experts call it mobile blinding and it’s taking its toll on women’s, fashion, tabloid and gossip magazines. U.S. sales of these magazines fell 9.5% in just the past year.

Magazines aren’t the only items you’re ignoring in the checkout line. The sale of other impulse items such as gum, candy and last minute toiletries have also taken a hit due to mobile blinding.
