Stress can do a real number on our health. There are lots of treatments and methods to keep it in check and Dr. Murray Grossman, author of “Stressed?” has a valuable gadget that can really help – your mirror. To activate this biofeedback machine – look at your face for a few minutes. First, unclench your jaw and let your lips and mouth relax. Next, feel the tension drain away from your cheeks and eyes. Finally, breathe in for a count of four, then out for a count of six. Once or twice a day can be really effective.
Dr. Grossman explains, it’s almost impossible to feel anxiety when our muscles are relaxed. The mirror trick can really help identify tension we didn’t even know we had.
