Is it a fashion faux-pas to mix silver and gold?
Wearing both silver and gold jewelry together used to be a bit taboo. Mixing metals is a popular trend now, but there’s a right and wrong way to do it. The trick is to make it look like you MEANT to do that. You don’t just want silver earrings with a gold necklace. Style expert Jenn Falic says, keep it in odd numbers. If you’re going to layer necklaces or bracelets, do three – two of one metal and one of the other. That way it won’t look too balanced. One strand of silver is enough to tie those earrings in, or vice versa.
