Guess what? Shopping is good for you!

If you’d like to do something good for your health – go shopping! New research has found that a shopping spree has some of the same benefits as a workout – along with a surge of positive emotion. Shoppers in the study experienced an increase in heart rate and sweating. Bargain hunters felt the most physical and mental excitement and burned the most calories. Obviously, retail therapy will backfire if you can’t afford it or get carried away – but if you can master window shopping and skip the big purchases, you’ll get an extra rush of satisfaction from your self discipline.
