The Golden Girls were ahead of their time.
According to Rachel Caraviello, vice president of Affordable Living for the Aging, more seniors will be taking on roommates in their golden years. That’s because many Baby Boomers have not planned for retirement like the generation before. There are less pensions, retirement plans and social security out there. There is also a lot more divorce and single seniors who could use the companionship and financial boost of taking on a roomie.
