Don’t toss your banana peels – bury them. I’ll tell you why, in minute…

Did you know some plants love banana peels? 

Roses, in particular, can really thrive from the compounds in decomposing banana peels. Now is the best time to bury your bananas. Lay the peels a few inches under the soil or mulch in flower beds. If you’ve got rose bushes, bury a ring of banana peels around them in late spring and again in the summer. The potassium, sulfur and other nutrients in the peels are excellent fertilizers and will even help prevent some disease.
