If you’re taking someone on a date this Friday – in your car – get some stuff out of there!
Here is a list of turnoffs that could be lurking in or on your car:
• Cigarette butts or smell. Unless your date is a smoker, your rolling ashtray isn’t going to win you any points.
• Trash or food wrappers. The rolling pantry isn’t any better.
• Loud music. Save that for your solo rides.
• Political bumper stickers. The election's over. Get the razor blade and scrape them off.
• Dents and damage. If it’s bad, you might want to rent or borrow a car.
• Loud exhaust. You might think it’s cool but it’s embarrassing to a lot of passengers.
• The pine tree air freshener. It’s time to raise the car scent bar a bit.
To avoid having your car be the third wheel on that date, make sure it’s clean and reliable. Give it the smell test and go with a subtle, fresh fragrance – preferably under the seat. Be sure to pre-set the radio and volume to be date-friendly. If you’re the guy – go ahead and open the door for her.
