Fitness apps are all the rage and there’s one for just about every lifestyle.
Here are some easy free apps which are worth a try from Discovery Fit and Health:
● Counting calories: The MyFitnessPal app is super popular and allows you to search for most foods and get basic nutrition information on the go. This app serves as a tracker too, so you can count your daily calorie, fat, and carbohydrate intake and compare your day-to-day diet.
● Logging miles: There are a few app pedometers which are great for walkers and runners. Try the Endomondo or the Nike + Running app.
● Fitness on the go: For walkers and runners who travel a lot, WalkJogRun gives local routes in the area where you’re staying and also offers an up-to-date map and GPS system to help you track your route.
● Improve your sleep: For an app that will help you get your sleep schedule, try Sleep Cycle. It uses your phone to monitor how you move in your sleep and determine which sleep phase you are in. It wakes you when you are in the lightest sleep phase, leaving you feeling rested.
● For busy moms: give the app Doctor on Demand a try and get your child’s prescription for that nasty rash without ever stepping foot into the doctor’s office. You will be charged your regular $40 co-pay but you won’t have to take time off of work or wait in line.
● For pregnant women or those who are trying to get pregnant: Give BabyBump a try and other helpful apps like Foods to Avoid When Pregnant.
