If you’re watching your weight, skip the reduced-fat peanut butter. Why it’s worse for you...

Don’t fall for the reduced-fat trick if you’re watching your weight - especially where peanut butter is concerned...

While reduced or fat-free peanut butter might sound like a great option, you’ll be spreading on a host of worse offenders than fat. When manufacturers remove or reduce the fat, they’re forced to replace that with corn starches and sugars in order to keep it spreadable. Check the labels. That diet peanut butter may have just as many, if not more, calories and refined carbs and sugar. It also has less flavor and fewer heart-healthy monounsaturated fats.
