According to Dr. Ivan Walks, former District of Columbia Chief Health Officer, some people who really engage politically can be profoundly disappointed when things don’t turn out the way they had hoped. They may feel their judgment is being questioned or that they’ve lost a certain amount of respect – and it can get ugly!
Dr. Walks advice – let it go! Stop rehashing and blaming and start planning ahead politically. Getting back to your family and the things you cared about before the campaign is key. He also says - if you really want to jump start the healing – take down the signs and peel off those bumper stickers.
