Printer Ink

If you don’t use your printer that often – it could really mess things up…

Go ahead and print something – anything. If you only use that printer once in a while, the ink can dry up – and it can cause big problems. Depending on the printer, ink can be pricey. Once a cartridge dries up you usually will need to buy a new one. There are some methods of reviving a dried cartridge – but it’s complicated and could damage the printer. Another risk of non-use is loose ink drying inside of the tiny components of the print heads.

Run a test page on your printer about once a week to prevent drying. Also, check print cartridges for expiration dates – some have been sitting on the shelf for a while.

  1. You're not wrong. I sometimes think that it's worth just
getting a new printer every year!
