Don’t change the date setting on your watch late at night!

If you’ve got a nice watch with hands – be careful about setting the date on it...

You never want to do it between the hours of 10 pm and 2 am. Because the works inside are delicate, that could break the calendar wheel. If you really need a late night date change – change the hands outside of that time frame first.

If you’re investing in a nice watch – make sure to have the jeweler demonstrate how to adjust the hands. Some watches require a simple pull of the crown, the small wheel on the side, while others require you to unscrew the crown to get to the hands. After you’re finished, you want to be sure it’s back in place nice and snug to keep out any moisture.
