What a Nightmare!

Did you know there’s a cure for nightmares?

Most of us have the occasional nightmare – but some people have them night after night – and it can take a real toll on overall health. There is a way to make them go away – just change them up a bit. It’s called Imagery Rehearsal Therapy – or IRT. it works for kids, adults and has even helped people suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. Dr. Shelby Harris, a sleep specialist, explains how it works. The trick is to recall as much as detail as you can about the dream, talk it out or write it down - and then change it while you’re awake. You can change the ending, the middle, a little or a lot.

80% of people who have used IRT have nightmares less frequently. If you need professional help with Imagery rehearsal therapy – it’s covered by insurance most of the time.
