Chapped Lips

It’s that time of year again – for chapped lips...

If your lips are chapped – join the club. Colder temperatures and windy days are perfect chapping conditions. The best approach is to arm and treat your lips with Chapstick or lip balm BEFORE they dry out. The more often you apply it – the better protected your lips will be. It’s best to avoid flavored products – balms with beeswax and cocoa butter are the best. Licking chapped lips is a definite don’t – it’s a natural reflex – but it just dries them out more as that moisture evaporates.

If your lips do end up getting severely chapped – see your doctor – you’ll probably need a prescription hydrocortisone cream to heal them.
