Most of us have a cooking enthusiast on our gift list – and there’s a new culinary trend that’s actually really old. The caveman kitchen. Some of the best cooking gadgets date back to the stone-age – and here are a few that are getting popular again:
• The mortar and pestle. They’re perfect for quick tasks like mixing pastes and spice blends – and are much more attractive than a food processor.
• The baking stone. Even if they won’t be using it over an open fire – today’s baking stones are great heat conductors and slip right into the oven. They wick away moisture and achieve crispy crusts and rustic appeal.
• The Homo Sapiens Multi-Purpose Kitchen Tool. It’s basically just a big rock – but it’s designed to multi-task – use it for crunching garlic, sharpening knives, tenderizing meat and more.
