Olive Oil

The next time you buy olive oil – get the SMALLER bottle!

Olive oil is really good for us – but the bottle you choose can actually decrease it’s heart-healthy power. It’s best to go with the smaller bottles – that limits the oxygen that gets in there each time you pour it. Olive oil in the dark green bottles is better too. Clear glass lets too much UV light in which also deteriorates those healthy compounds.

It’s best to store your olive oil in a cabinet at room temperature – and check the dates on the bottle. Olive oil starts losing its punch six months after the olives are picked, pressed and packaged.
