Payoff:Everyone likes finding a little loose change – especially the TSA!
Travelers rushing through security to catch their flights leave a fortune behind in loose change. In 2010, flyers dropped a whopping $409,085.56 at checkpoints. Over 46 thousand of that was at JFK Airport and another 20 thousand at L.A. International.
So who gets to keep all that loose change? Finders-keepers – the TSA. The rules now dictate they can spend any money left behind on security operations.
