Attention nine to fivers! Your job could be fattening! According to a new study, workers have become way less active in the past few decades. All those electronic conveniences add up to less running around, and it's not just secretaries who are spreading out any more.
There is something we can do about it though. It may not sound like fun, but taking the stairs can make a big difference. If you work on the 18th floor, or the first, you might try some other methods instead. Quick bursts of energy can help, like taking a walk outside during a break, or a lap or two through those other departments you never see. Exercise in smaller doses throughout the day can be even more effective than a big workout before or after work.
