There is a best time to buy a car – and it’s this Sunday.
TrueCar, which tracks car buying and selling data, has run the numbers and determined that a Sunday in early August is the overall sweet spot for getting the best deal, especially on an SUV. However, that day can vary by vehicle. If you’re shopping for a luxury sports car, hang on until September. Subcompact cars hit their low in December and January and February are the months to shop for a small SUV or large truck. Regardless of what month you buy, TrueCar recommends buying on the first two days of the month or on a Sunday.
