If you opt for turkey instead of beef, beware of the turkey halo.


Turkey burgers and dogs and turkey bacon are healthier than the beef or pork variety – right? 

Not always. If you’re not careful, you could wind up with a product that’s even worse for you. Some turkey bacon contains just as much or more fat and sodium than lean pork bacon. You’ll need to check the labels before choose.

The same is true for turkey burgers. Many are lower in saturated fats but higher in sodium. Your best bet here is to go with organic turkey burgers or dogs and make sure you’re not grilling up a bunch of additives and fillers.
