Getting into a broiling car can be brutal on a hot summer day...

The next time you have to get into a sweltering car – cool it off first, with the Japanese door trick. First, open your door and roll down the PASSENGER side window – keep the driver’s window up. Then get out of the car and open and shut the driver’s side door 5 times. This draws the hotter air out while pulling some cooler air in.

When demonstrated, the temperature outside was 86.9 – and 106.8 inside the car. After the door trick, the interior was 92.3.
