It seems that of the 982 million Twitter accounts out there, 44% of them are Tweeting the exact same thing – nothing.
Just 30% of users have sent between one and ten tweets and only 13% are considered really active with 100 or more tweets.
With so many accounts, some of the other averages are surprisingly low. The average number of followers per tweeter is 71. The average number of following is 68 and the average number of tweets per active account is just 441.
