It’s wrong, so wrong - but professional people are often discriminated against because of how they look...
Several workplace studies have identified some features which could hold you back or kick-start your career:
* Height: Tall people get paid more money. For every inch of height, a tall worker can expect to earn an extra $789 per year.
* Weight: Obese workers, with a Body Mass Index of more than 30, are paid less than normal-weight coworkers at a rate of $8,666 a year for obese women, and $4,772 a year for obese men.
* Hair Color: Among caucasian women, blondes earn about 7% more than any other hair color. Their husbands tend to earn more as well.
* Physique: workers who exercise regularly earn 9 percent more on average than employees who don’t work out.
* Make-up: Women who wear make-up rank higher in competence and professionalism, One study found that those who wear it well can earn more than 30 percent more in pay than non make-up wearing workers.
* Attractiveness: Attractive people earn more money - men and women. However, women who are considered exceedingly attractive experience more discrimination than gorgeous guys.
